Jobs, Jobs, Jobs. What has President Obama done to create JOBS.  See the chart of what and how.  Updated on March 2, 2012  Click here

The housing industry insiders are claiming that 2012 will be a banner year, the interest rates are down but heading up, which will temp many to make improvements and purchases. The inventory of low cost homes is up, which will entice investors. Investment rules have loosened making it easier to purchase foreclosure and HUD homes. More people are looking for condos and apartments and will be buying. Home improvements have been put off by many for several years and now have to be done. Fuel cost are rising and thus the home and office building insulation and HVAC market will improve.

Per some Real Estate Agents around America in December of 2012; 'housing prices are up 16.5% in some areas and housing inventory is down, thus there is a market for construction contractors of all sorts.'

FAA Closings of 200 small airport towers:

The latest Federal Budget cuts included up to a 10% cut in funding for all Federal Government activities and the FAA has proposed shutting down the FAA operations and control towers at some 200 small airports across the U.S.A.; and cutting back employees at many of the major Commercial Airports as well.

These airports are for whom, and of what value are each?  There are those that feel that the Federal, State, and Local Governments should NOT be involved in everyone's lives or in Business, thus one has to question the WHY of the U.S.A. taxpayer funding ANY private or commercial airports and the control towers of each; after all only a very small percentage of U.S.A. citizens own private aircraft or can even afford to put fuel in one, and most corporate aircraft are there for the benefit of the stockholders and owners of the the corporations, not the U.S.A. taxpayer.

You also should ask yourself if the users of commercial flights should pay for their safety in the form of TSA and FAA activities that only service the users, not the average person in the general public, i.e., the taxpayers..

Thus, the question is, should we fund the FAA and the tens of hundreds of FAA airports and control towers, of should the USERS of the airports and such fund the cost of their life styles?

U-Haul

Buying a U-haul used Vehicle, it can be a good buy, or it can be a total disaster.

U-haul sells off their high mileage vehicles, those over 160,000 miles to those that want a work-horse that has a maintenance history and has been maintained on a schedule.

There are some things to watch for, as follows:

A) U-haul's vehicles are all licensed in Arizona and may not pass the safety and pollution standards of the state in which it is being sold.  PA is one such state.

B) U-haul's maintenance may lack professionalism, and little things like routine spark plug changes may NOT have happened or may not have been done properly.  Check vehicle history.

C) U-haul will negotiate a price, for example if the asking price is $4,500 you can make an offer of about $3,100 and the chances are they will accept.

D) As a private owner of a U-haul you are required to register the vehicle as a Commercial Vehicle and purchase Commercial Plates and Insurance.  If you are using it for NON-Commercial purposes, you still must pay the higher rates for registration.

E) As a private person renting a U-haul you do not normally have to stop at State Line Inspection Stations, but as a private person Owning a U-haul you MUST stop in most states.

F) If you are towing another vehicle, be sure that it has its weight on separate axles so that the weight is NOT on the rear wheels of the vehicle.

G) If you request it, you can receive a *.PDF copy of the complete maintenance history.  Mind you, this does not mean much when the work may have not been properly done.

House at Pahrump, Nevada.

581 Calvada is up for sale AGAIN, even though it is under legal contract for $54,900, and again for $59,000.  Seems that contracts in the State of Nevada mean nothing to the Real Estate agencies, banks, mortgage companies, owners, sellers, etc.

Free Estimates

Do you provide Free Estimates to your potential customers?  IF so, why?

In the last three months I have been to three dentist and two doctors in the Mayfair/Tacony/Holmesburg  area of Philadelphia and each charged from $148 to $175 for a 5 minute consultation, or in the case of the dentist for a one or two x-rays, only to be told that they could NOT DO anything for me, I would have to see a 'Specialist', who then wanted nearly a thousand dollars for one tooth root canal.  It turns out I may, note MAY, need three.

This is after another Dentist charged $550 for work done, AFTER quoting $255 for all the work; gee he failed to estimate the underlying problems and the work took an hour more than estimated.

I don't know how many construction contractors get $150 to $450 per hour, or how many charge for estimates, but I doubt that many do, thus, when it comes to working on the homes and offices of Doctors and Dentist, the estimate should be $250 and the hourly fee $500.00.  Fair is Fair, right?
